FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT
This collection reflects the cultural contrasts I saw growing up in London — from the tracksuits of Tottenham to the suits of Canary Wharf. It explores how clothes and surroundings silently define who we are, how we're seen, and what we strive for.
Taking influence from Camden Market’s bootleg culture and the ambition within the grime scene, I reimagined traditional menswear through a satirical lens. Tailoring classics were merged with streetwear using trompe-l’oeil textiles to question ideas of authenticity, aspiration and status.
‘IT JUST DON’T HIT THE SAME. IT’S GOTTA BE FRESH OUT THE MARKET, I REPEAT…THE FAKE THE GUCCI THE BETTER.’ – SKEPTA 2022
